Eyes on the leader.

If you’ve ever had to follow a car in a convoy, or follow someone through a busy mall or crowded area, one thing you know is to keep your eyes constantly on that car or person you’re following. Take your eyes off for a few moments and you might lose your party, take a wrong turn or stay on a road the car leading you has long turned off.

As Christians, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is leading us through life, and we need to keep our eyes fixed on Him. Not on other believers, church members or pastors. Not on whatever things are going on in our lives, not on the storm like Peter did in Mathew 14. Here we see Peter walking on water with Jesus, he takes his eyes off Jesus and starts looking at the winds, eyes off Jesus he begins to sink. Yes there will be storms, distractions and a whole lot else in our lives but let’s not focus on them. Instead let’s keep our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who leads us beside still waters and in the paths of righteousness, who is leading us in the way we should go

For the person driving in a convoy, the busier the road, the more you concentrate on the car leading you. The more crowded the mall, the more you need to focus on the person you’re following.  Life gets crowded.  Let’s keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. No Distractions!!!

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go. (Isaiah 48:17)

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2)

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (Isaiah 26:3)

He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. (Psalm 23 :2-3)
