Often times in Christendom we see Salvation seem more cumbersome and demanding than it really is. You hear “Do XYZ” or “give up ABC”. “Come as you are…BUT….” then follows a list of stuff you have to do and hurdles you need to overcome to get saved. Salvation which is actually so simple then becomes something so difficult.
John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Christ will not perish but have Everlasting Life.” You get everlasting life the moment you believe in Jesus Christ and the salvation He bought with His blood at the Cross. It’s in ‘The Believing’ that you become saved. “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. (John 3:36) ”
Mr. A believes thus Mr. A has Eternal Life, Mr. X does not believe thus Mr. X has Gods wrath on Him. “He who believes in Christ is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:17).”
Jesus who was sinless took our sins, so that we can take His righteousness. Believe in Him, in His death and resurrection, and you’ve got His perfect righteousness. It’s pretty simple, expensive because it cost Jesus’ blood, but simple.
