The More You Know…

Knowledge is an important part of every relationship, boy meets girl and spends dollar upon dollar on dates and outings to get to know her better and show her who he is. Long hours on the phone on conversations to dig deeper and reveal the truth about each other. You meet someone new at a social gathering and questions are asked from what you do to where you live. Companies research resumes, conduct interviews, talk to former employers in order to know if a prospective employee is a good fit. It’s our way of gathering knowledge and knowing where to fit people. It answers questions like can this person be employed? Can I marry this person, can this person be my friend or acquaintance? Can I call on this friend in times of need? There is a reward in ‘getting to know’.

Getting to Know God also has immense benefits. Knowing who He is. Believing who He says He is. Having that personal understanding of what He says and what He has done. The bible says he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He rewards those who diligently seek him. There is a reward in walking with God and diligently seeking him, digging deeper into finding out all about Him. It answers your questions. It builds your faith. It makes you know.

When Jesus was with his disciples, when others were struggling with the question “who do you say I am?” (Mathew 16). Peter knew by the spirit and answered “You are the Christ, the son of the living God”. He Knew!  It’s no wonder then that when others were fearful with the sight of Jesus walking on water, he was able to trust Him and walk on the water with him. Truly those who know their God shall be mighty and do exploits.

So get to know God, diligently seek Him, have prayer dates with him, research His Resume and get ready to do great things. The more you know.

But those who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. (Daniel 11:32)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
